Facilities

Valdosta State University's STEAM Center for Applied Creativity and Innovation calls Martin Hall home. Named after a former VSU president, Martin Hall once housed the Nursing program at VSU. In 2014-15, the university received funding from the Georgia legislature to renovate Martin Hall and create the new STEAM Center. Here are some of the exciting features of the facility:

  • Solar canopy contributes to the electric supply for the building.
  • Houses a Tutoring Center with 8 rooms.
  • Large conference room with state-of-the-art video and audio technologies can be used for video conferencing.
  • Expansive (2,600 sq. ft.) multi-purpose room can be used for large events or divided into three smaller rooms.
  • Multi-purpose room contains an embedded robotics track.
  • STEAM Center is 18,962 square feet in size and can be used as a teaching tool to show occupants how building systems operate. Electrical, data and HVAC system components are visible in many areas within the STEAM Center.
