Distance Learning / Independent Study Exams

The Office of Testing administers proctored examinations for distance learning or online courses offered by other institutions and organizations. Exams are offered by .

GACE

The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) assess the knowledge and skills of prospective and current Georgia P-12 educators. The GACE is aligned with state and national standards for educator preparation and with Georgia state standards for the P–12 student curriculum (Georgia Performance Standards).

GMAT

The GMAT is administered at Valdosta State University through a computer-based format. The GMAT is normally a required test for admittance to MBA programs. The test is generally offered Monday through Wednesday.

GRE Subject Tests

GRE Subject Tests score results are normally used as a requirement for graduate admission into some specific graduate programs. Please be sure to check with your graduate school of choice to ensure whether or not you need a GRE Subject Test for admission. The GRE Subject Tests are administered at Valdosta State University in a paper and pencil format throughout the year.

The GRE General test is not administered at Valdosta State. The GRE General is offered in an at-home format and at the Prometric Test Center in Valdosta. Praxis

Valdosta State University is a national test center for the PRAXIS. The series of testing programs include the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators and the Praxis Subject Assessments. The components of the test are used as an educator certification requirement in some states (for Georgia, the GACE is the requirement for certification). Please check with your state certifying agency to make sure that the Praxis is accepted as a certification assessment. The exam is administered at Valdosta State University only during designated windows.
