The BSED in secondary education is designed to create versatile, well-rounded educators who can teach in their specified concentration area. Students leave understanding the importance of planning, instructing, assessing and their impact on the 21st century learner.  Upon entering the secondary program, students spend time in a variety of classrooms in partner schools leading to a full semester of student teaching.   Students learn to be reflective practitioners by evaluating the effects of choices and actions on others (students, families, and other professionals in the learning community); and the ability to positively impact learning.
