Dr. Marc G. Pufong is a Professor of Public Law and Political Science at the Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Georgia. He holds MA and Ph.D. degrees from Southern Illinois and before that he attended Indiana University-Bloomington Maurer School of law and the University of Texas, Austin Texas. His research focuses on judicial politics, with particular interest in Law and Courts and the democratic nature of the judiciary in Constitutional Systems; International law and Politics, Human Rights and Conflicts. Professor Pufong's scholarship is motivated by the desire to apply interdisciplinary approaches to the study and understanding of politics, law and courts, the rule of law within and beyond democratic political systems.
